Opened in September 2004 by Mr Edward Hemsley, the Severn Centre provides high quality community, leisure, health and lifelong learning facilities for the people of Highley and surrounding area.

Gerry Hitchens Fitness Suite

Our fully air conditioned fitness suite offers the latest in cardiovascular and resistance equipment combined with a state of the art audio and visual entertainment system.

Heated Outdoor Swimming Pool

The large 25 x 10m heated open air swimming pool provides the holiday atmosphere. With picnic area there is something for everyone. Open May to September, sessions include adult only swimming lessons.

Indoor Sports Hall

Suitable for Badminton, Volleyball, Trampolining, Indoor Cricket, Table Tennis, Gymnastics, Basketball, Martial Arts & much more.

Multi-Use Games Area

The all weather surface is ideal for Tennis (3 courts), Netball, 5-a-side Football and Hockey. Flood Lights mean games can be played throughout the evening all year round.

Bowling Green

The Crown Green Bowling Green is a perfect way to relax and is open from March to September.

Conference/Community Hall

The large 34ft x 62ft Conference/Community Hall has everything you need, whether your function is a meeting, wedding reception, birthday party, pantomime or theatrical performance. With a large Projector Screen, Hearing Loop, P.A System, Bar and wireless internet connection.

Meeting Room

The Meeting Room can hold up to 20 people for any meeting or activity. The room also includes wireless internet connection. Laptops are available on request.

Bar Severn & The Miners Café

Bar Severn is open from 12.00 everyday and has wireless internet connection.

The Miners Café is open from 9.30am everyday serving hot & cold food.

Breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. Elizabeth Davies also provides catering for your party, meals on wheels outside catering. Please call 01746 860000 ext 24.

Highley Library & Customer First Point.

The Library is now open alongside the Severn Centre’s opening hours.

Mon – Thu  9am – 9pm

Fri   9am – 7pm

Sat & Sun 9am – 4pm

The library have books, talking books and DVD’s that are available for hire. Computers with internet can be used free of charge

Highley Police Station & Veterinary Service

The Police & Severn Edge Veterinary Service also have a regular presence at the centre.

Youth & Skate Park Area

The Youth Area has been specially designed by the youngsters of Highley and includes Basketball Court, Swings, Shelter and a Large Skate Ramp.

The Severn Centre also has a Topaz Vertical Sunbed, Football Pitch, Cricket Pitch, Changing Rooms, Large Car Parking Area, Disabled Toilets and Baby Changing Facilities.
